Training for professionals and organisations
I provide tailored training for professionals and organisations working with children, young people and families. Training is developed in discussion with the commissioning service so that it reflects the participants’ experience, the needs of the setting and the questions arising from their work.
Areas of focus
Training can be developed around themes including:
- children’s and young people’s emotional and behavioural difficulties
- child and adolescent development
- psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to understanding behaviour and relationships
- trauma, loss and the impact of difficult experiences
- working with parents, carers and families
- professional relationships, boundaries and the emotional impact of the work
- reflective practice within teams and organisations
These are examples, and sessions can be developed around other relevant areas of practice.
Who the training is for
Training may be suitable for psychotherapists, counsellors, health and social-care professionals, education staff, residential and family-support services, and other teams working with children, young people or families. The content and language are adapted to the group’s role, setting and level of experience.
How training is arranged
Training may be offered as a single workshop, a series of sessions or as part of a wider programme of consultation and reflective practice. Sessions can take place in person or online where suitable.
Following an initial discussion, I will propose the aims, content and format of the training, together with the practical arrangements and fees.
